The Relationship Between Teacher’s Autonomy-Supportive Behavior and Learning Strategies Applied by Students: The Role of Teacher Support and Equity

This study aimed to investigate the role of teacher support and equity in relationship between teacher’s autonomy-promoting behavior students’ learning strategies. The approach examines direct autonomy-supportive strategies via perceived support. It also discusses effect for Data were obtained from 24 secondary schools nine Lithuanian municipalities with poor socioeconomic level contexts ( N = 632 pupils). findings revealed that is directly associated student’s greater use strategies, as well through a mediator—student’s perceptions association moderated by so positive stronger students higher than lower equity. adds understanding importance concentrating on equity, which especially essential low-income families. Teachers may foster providing more possibilities autonomy all students, creating supportive classroom environment inviting be active participants process.
